A Couple of New Animations

I've been posting stuff to my new Tumblr account, but I'll be posting here too.

This first one I did for fun after hearing The Commodore's "Machine Gun." In a perfect world the animation would sync to the music a little better... But you get the idea.



And this next one I did after seeing Lindsay Small-Butera's comic about her experience watching the new Alice in Wonderland movie.

Just did this for fun.

A Terrible Sunburn

One of the cons of working indoors. Also while I was working on this, I realized the setup was pretty similar to the way my last Zelda animation ended. But I still finished it anyway. So DEAL.

Don't Jump Before You Skim

I feel like every year there's a different type of insect infestation at my parent's pool. This year looks to be inchworms. Anyway, this addresses the general problem of jumping before you skim. It's a serious problem, folks.

Off to New Adventures

I probably won't write much about it, because honestly it's been quite the emotional rollercoaster, and I really need to get some sleep soon. But my last day at Soup2Nuts was yesterday, May 20th. It's been an amazing 4 + years. I've grown so much as an animator, but maybe even moreso as a person. In ways I never really expected, too, as a direct result of my time there, and the friends I made.

But, on Monday I'm off to Hero4Hire, and I hope to learn even more there. I'm really, really going to miss seeing all my friends from Soup on a daily basis. But I guess change is about give and take.

Anyway, I made this for them as a sort of final goodbye before I left on Friday.



Thanks for everything, Soup! It's really been the best 4 years of my life.

Flying into a Plank

Just did this for fun. Playing with physics and movement and such.

Mario Run Cycle

Animating run cycles is sometimes cathartic. Started out as some dope, then I turned it into Mario for no good reason. Really fun though, especially animating the hat and nose.

"Big News"

I'm not one to really post super personal stuff. So I'll make this quick and simple. My life has sort of changed a little in the past few months. I made this for a friend as a silly way of delivering the news.

I also wanted to say thanks to my friends and family for all of their support (of which there's been a lot). I've learned so much in the recent months, but the most important thing that I've been told is that everyone deserves to be happy. And I must say I agree.

Throbbing Pain
